VI. I interviewed two individuals to see what their response would be to my (our) plan. Their responses are as follows.
Russell Martens- " That makes sense. If your going to give people money atleast make them go though mandadotry drug testing to make sure they are not using the money to spend on drug . They are supposed to spend money on necessities not other stuff." When asked if the welfare recipients were to be given a debit card that would track their spending." That would be the greatest idea ever. That would stop alot of welfare fraud." He also said that he would much rather have our taxes go to the people of our country other then other countrys. Such as Hati. So he is not fully against welfare. He recognizes that some people need it.
Corinna Murphy- "Well that would not be good for the people that would have been relying on their whole lives. If they were to take that money away they most likely wouldnt go get a job they would turn to crime to get money." She of course is talking about people who live in the bad parts of cities. They have the "Ghetto mind set" and instead of getting a job they would most likely turn to crime to replace the lost income from welfare.
VII. My (our) answer, based on our research, to their objections and concerns are- That would not be our problem. They should know better then to turn to crime for income loss. Also if people do not want to submit to mandatory drug testing then what are they hiding? It should be not be a big deal unless of course they are using their money on something else other then essentials. If they are going to recieve free money then they should feel obligated to go through testing.
